Tumor shrinkage, yeah!
I went in for a mammogram and to meet with my awesome surgeon today for pre-op planning etc. The really, really good news is that the tumor has shrunk so much as to be invisible on the mammogram; chemo for the win. Therefore, I'm hopeful if any cancer cells decided to road trip, then they met an ugly end at the hand(s) of cytoxan, taxotere, and/or adriomycin. I know plenty of healthy cells did, ha!
The other interesting news was that the surgeon did not put up a fight on a bilateral mastectomy. She sees enough abnormality in the original mammogram and taking into account some family history of other cancers, she thinks that the risk is high enough. It takes some of the weight off the decision I had pretty much already made, and was starting to settle into.
More on how much I will miss my boobs later :-) But...the list Ann is helping me compile is helpful!
On the chemo front...sleep and rest is good. I felt like I would be better at doing enough of that, apparently not. Yes, mom, I took a long nap today!
